The 5-year-old boy was turned over to a family member and was uninjured.
Further investigation found that before the police launched the investigation, Callejas Vasquez allegedly struck a 24-year-old female family member while they were inside the vehicle, though no injuries were reported.
Callejas Vasquez was arrested and charged with:
Felony child neglect;
- DUI;
- Domestic assault and battery;
- Unreasonable refusal;
- Driving without a valid driver’s license.
He is being held without bond and his next court appearance is pending, according to police.
